Tender awarded for Inglis Falls Road work

Inglis Falls Road will be shut down early in the new year as work gets started on a major reconstruction project. On Wednesday night, Georgian Bluffs council awarded the project to rebuild approximately 640 metres of the road to Moorefield Excavation Ltd. at a price of about $3.4 million.

What's going on here? New apartment building in the works for Tottenham

A new apartment building is coming to Mill Street West in Tottenham. New Tecumseth's committee of the whole has approved a recommendation to enter into a site plan agreement with AMV Leasing Limited to permit a three-storey mixed-use apartment building to be constructed at 21 Mill St. W.

What's going on here? Oro-Medonte sets stage for Finnish-flavoured spa

Rumbling machines worked the snow-covered earth on a plot of land in Horseshoe Valley, setting the stage for a high-end getaway with a Finnish flavour. Situated at the top of Horseshoe Resort, the $17-million Vettä Nordic Spa is envisioned as an answer to the stresses of everyday life, said founder Eric Harkonen. “It’s a place where we can go recharge, reconnect with oneself and with others and we just get rejuvenated to go back and hit the world again,” Harkonen told a local audience during a groundbreaking event.

Ground broken on luxurious, outdoor, year-round day spa

Council proceeds with Stayner revitalization plan

Clearview council has accepted a proposal from Stefan Bolliger Associates Inc. Landscape Architects for the redevelopment of a Downtown Open Space (Amenities) Improvement Plan known as the Station Park/Gideon Street Redevelopment in Stayner. The $24,337.50 fee was one of two comparable quotes received. The plan will identify, prioritize and provide an implementation strategy for the phased improvement of publicly owned lands in Stayner’s downtown core.

Stayner downtown plan encourages pedestrians

A presentation of the Stayner downtown open space improvement plan was slipped in before Monday’s council meeting. With little promotion and the midday timeslot only about eight members of the public were in attendance, along with many members of township staff. Everyone we talked to seemed to agree the concepts look great.

Planning for Stayner’s future growth

The small community of Stayner is about to boom with an influx of new housing. “Stayner is built ready to go,” says mayor Chris Vanderkruys. “We already have our water and sewage capacity situated for growth. We have about 4,500 homes on the books to build.” Along with houses on the horizon, the mayor says it’s time to improve the downtown area.

A vision for the heart of Clearview Township

This fall, councillors will be making decisions on the future look of Stayner’s downtown in a project that should be more than a mere makeover of the main street. The plan — developed by consultant Stefan Bolliger and refined over the last six months — details cobblestone sidewalks, pedestrian corridors leading to the downtown, improved parking on the side streets, and park areas.

Township of Ramara - Economic Development

Now that spring is finally here and summer is just around the corner, one of the big projects for Economic Development is now in full swing. The Township has retained Stefan Bolliger Associates Inc., Landscape Architects to move forward with the gateway signage that Council approved on March 25, 2019. Stefan Bolliger Associates Inc. are currently designing the signs in order to provide us with the construction drawings needed to move forward with a Request for Proposal (RFP) to companies that will construct the signs for us.

Penetanguishene’s history front and centre

A town square and plaza, amphitheatre, observation deck, and a Wendat “gathering circle” and longhouse are a few of the features proposed for the redevelopment of Penetanguishene’s Rotary Park. Town officials anticipate the park will be one of the most historic and educational in the province, telling the story of the town and French explorer Samuel de Champlain.
