Morningside Park

Scarborough, Ontario

Our design team lead by 4 Directions of Conservation Consulting Services was engaged by the Toronto Region Conservation Authority to explore a culturally based trail through portions of Morningside Park in Scarborough. After gaining insight into present treaty status, cultural relationships and site history, the team developed a trail alignment that invites visitors to become engaged with First Nations significance, cultural depth and relevance and an intimate awareness and understanding of the original landscape. The park is home to many species of animals and plants that have survived over centuries in this area of Ontario. Construction is to commence in fall of 2022.
