Hwy 400 Corridor Landscape Improvement

Over the last number of years, our office has been involved in extensive landscape improvements associated with highway widenings along the 400 highway corridor. The challenges to restore landscape elements along highways are varied and require knowledge of ecological impacts, wind, salt and a variety of pollutants associated with highway operations. Our team has managed the implementation of evergreen snow fences, complex restoration of watercourses and storm water management facilities as well as slope stabilization methods and extensive shrub and tree planting to mitigate the effects of a variety of pollutants. This work was done based on the office’s full RAQ’s approval through the Ministry of Transportation.
