Holly Recreation Centre

Barrie, Ontario

The City of Barrie in conjuncture with Shore Tilbe Irwin and Richardson-Foster Engineers engaged our firm to design the landscape design portion for the Holly Recreation facility. Our task was to prepare detailed design plans for the open space component of the project. This involved strategies to preserve mature trees and wooded areas, to integrate existing and proposed sports fields, playgrounds and to create pedestrian connections to neighbourhoods. It was important to our team to integrate this new and large facility into the adjacent neighbourhood in a sensitive manner.
